Red Recioto della Valpolicella is made after careful late picking of ripe bunches (of Corvina and Rondinella grapes), which are then left to desiccate in the autumn, thereby concentrating body and sweetness. Just superb in this hot vintage, with a dramatically bittersweet attack of Morello cherries, strawberries and raspberries. Beautiful jellied fruit. Wonderful stuff, equally at home with strong hard cheese as with not-too-sweet chocolate puddings. Now-2026
